A Glaze surgery used for orthodontic fittings and adjustments

Treatments

Orthodontic treatment

Crooked teeth, straightened properly, at any age.

Plan and price first

Nothing begins until you agree to it.

Unhurried visits

Time to ask everything you want to ask.

HMO accepted

Nine partner health plans, billed for you.

Gentle by default

Say you're nervous and we pace it to you.

Braces move teeth into the position they should have taken, gently and over months rather than weeks. Straight teeth are easier to clean, wear more evenly and last longer, so this is health as much as appearance. We plan the whole route before the first bracket goes on, and you will know how long it should take and what it costs before you agree to anything.

This is for you if

  • Your teeth are crowded, crooked or sticking out
  • Your bite feels wrong, or one side wears faster than the other
  • You were told as a child you needed braces and never had them

Step by step

How it works

  1. 1

    Assessment & plan

We examine your bite, take scans and photographs, and show you where your teeth are now and where they should end up. You see the plan and the price before anything begins.

  2. 2

    Fitting

Brackets are placed and the wire fitted in a single visit. There is no drilling and no anaesthetic; most people are surprised how ordinary it feels.

  3. 3

    Adjustments

Short visits every few weeks to change the wire and keep the movement on track. This is the long stretch, and it is mostly uneventful.

  4. 4

    Retention

Teeth remember where they came from, so a retainer holds the result. We fit it the day the braces come off and explain exactly how long to wear it.

A closer look

Planned on a model of your own bite

Before a single bracket is fitted, the route your teeth will take is worked out on a model of your mouth. That is how we can tell you at the start roughly how long it should take.

Honest answers

Am I too old for braces?

No. Teeth move at any age, as long as the gums and bone holding them are healthy. Plenty of our orthodontic patients are adults who never had it done as children.

How long will I wear them?

Most cases run twelve to twenty-four months, depending on how far the teeth need to travel. We will give you an honest estimate at the assessment rather than a hopeful one.

Will it hurt?

Fitting does not. For two or three days after each adjustment the teeth feel tender when you bite, which ordinary pain relief handles. That settles, and it lessens as treatment goes on.

Can I eat normally?

Mostly. Very hard and very sticky things are best avoided because they pull brackets off. We give you the list, and it is shorter than people fear.

What if I would rather not have visible braces?

Then aligners may suit you better. They are not right for every case, so we will tell you honestly which of the two fits what your teeth actually need.
